Iran short ‘Building Number 13’ wins at Cap Spartel filmfest

Iranian short film ‘Building Number 13’ wins award at the Cap Spartel International Film Festival in Morocco.

Directed by Amir Gholami, ‘Building Number 13’ took home the special jury award at the Cap Spartel International Film Festival.

"The film was honored for its poetic outlook and imagination, visual creativity, and its surrealistic atmosphere," said Parviz Jahed, head of the festival’s jury panel.

‘Building Number 13’ tells the story of human life in the sewage systems in which people from upper floors make their social environment dirty.

Italian visual artist Marina Moreno and Belgium-based Moroccan actress Rachida Chbani were members of the jury panel.

The event also paid tribute to Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami by offering a translation of his poems into Arabic and excerpts of some of his films produced together with his colleagues.
